The Israeli army significantly expands the "combat zone" in Lebanon.

On May 27, Xinhua News Agency reported from Jerusalem (reporters Pang Xinyi and Wang Zhuolun) that a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces stated on social media on the evening of the 27th that the Israeli military will launch a "strong strike" against Hezbollah, and all areas south of the Zahrani River are considered a "combat zone."

The IDF spokesperson urged all residents in southern Lebanon to stay away from Hezbollah armed personnel, related facilities, and equipment, and suggested that residents in southern Lebanon evacuate to areas north of the Zahrani River.

Several towns in Lebanon, such as Tyre and Nabatieh, as well as the Litani River, are located south of the Zahrani River. The IDF had previously mainly operated south of the Litani River, which is much further north than the Zahrani River.

The Israel Times reported that the IDF has recently issued evacuation orders for specific towns and villages in Lebanon before airstrikes, and the warning on that day was the first time since the ceasefire that the IDF expanded the evacuation warning to the entire southern Lebanon region. The report noted that the ceasefire has effectively become meaningless.

Israeli media reported on the 26th that the IDF has begun to cross the so-called "Blue Line" defined by the ceasefire agreement of April 17, launching ground operations deep into Lebanese territory. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that the IDF is occupying some "strategic locations."

The Israeli and Lebanese sides began a 10-day temporary ceasefire on April 17, which was extended multiple times. However, since the ceasefire took effect, the IDF has launched attacks on the grounds that Hezbollah violated the ceasefire agreement and has dismantled and destroyed what it calls "Hezbollah military infrastructure" in the areas of southern Lebanon it occupies.
