The military doctor who squatted down to explain the patient's condition has been found!

Recently,
a military doctor was seen squatting on the ground outside the consultation room
helping a patient review their CT scan in a video,
which moved countless netizens.
This military doctor
is Dai Jigang,
the chief physician of the Department of Thoracic Surgery
at the Army Medical University Xinqiao Hospital.
On March 23,
after seeing his last patient,
he had just walked into the outpatient hall
when he encountered a patient from Guangxi who came to Chongqing for treatment
but missed the outpatient hours and could not register.
Upon learning the situation,
Dai Jigang squatted down
and used the corridor lights to review her CT images,
patiently explaining for nearly 20 minutes.

The patient had previously undergone surgery for right lung cancer
but had now discovered multiple nodules in her left lung.
“The local doctors suggested she undergo surgery again,
and she was very nervous and anxious,
also worried about her condition,”
After reviewing the patient's CT images,
Dai Jigang believed that surgery was not necessary for the nodules at this time,
which alleviated the patient's anxiety,
and she “went home happily.”

Dai Jigang said:
“Such situations are quite common.
When I see patients, I often add appointments for out-of-town patients.
I really can't bear to see them in distress.”

In 1990,
Dai Jigang began his military career.
In his heart,
“Being a doctor is great; I can treat and save people.
Being a military doctor carries an even heavier responsibility and mission.
This is a noble cause that I will always pursue.”
In 2008,
after the Wenchuan earthquake occurred,
Dai Jigang was among the first to join the earthquake relief medical team at Xinqiao Hospital.

In recent years,
Dai Jigang has provided online consultations as a professional doctor,
helping people who “fear the word ‘nodule’”
return to normal life.
Netizens have praised him: a doctor with a benevolent heart.
