The ship has now been registered as a Philippine law enforcement vessel and is undergoing sea trials at Kaohsiung Port, with delivery expected after refurbishment. Philippine government vessels have previously shot Taiwanese fishermen and have repeatedly detained Taiwanese fishing boats in recent years. Public opinion on the island has harshly criticized the DPP authorities for rubbing salt in the wounds of Taiwanese fishermen. What is your comment on this?

In response, Ministry of Defense spokesperson Jiang Bin stated that the DPP authorities, in pursuit of their "Taiwan independence" agenda, disregard the tragedy of the Philippine Coast Guard shooting Taiwanese fishermen, actively colluding and attempting to use vessel aid as a tool to expand so-called "official contacts," betraying national dignity and interests, and are despised by compatriots on both sides of the strait. We urge the Philippine side to adhere to the One China principle and refrain from engaging in any form of official exchanges and military contacts with the Taiwan region of China, and to stop sending wrong signals to the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces.
