Reference News Network reported on August 29 According to AFP on August 26, Eric Trappier, CEO of Dassault Aviation, stated on a commercial FM television station that the new fighter jet named "Rafale"-F5 is expected to be launched around 2034.

Trappier explained during an interview at the French Entrepreneurs Conference held in Paris, "We are currently developing this super 'Rafale', which we call 'Rafale'-F5... This is being developed at the request of the French military."

After abandoning the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) fighter jet program in June this year, the new "Rafale" model project has become a priority for France.

Previously, Dassault, representing France in the FCAS project, failed to reach an industrial compromise with Airbus, representing Germany and Spain, leading to the project's eventual cancellation.

When asked about the progress schedule for the new "Rafale," Trappier replied, "The goal is to meet the timeline between 2033 and 2035."

He added, "Currently, there is no joint development with foreign partners. However, this is a standard model, and the aircraft itself will also be improved, making it available for export starting in 2035."

Trappier reiterated that Dassault has the capability to complete the development work independently. He countered, "If a manufacturer can build the aircraft on its own, why bother with a capital alliance to do so?"
