Lian Wei hosted the reception. At 10:30 AM, accompanied by the solemn "Song of the People's Liberation Army," the reception officially began. During the event, Chen Wensheng and Ho Iat Seng delivered speeches. Finally, guests from various sectors jointly visited the photo exhibition commemorating the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army.
In his speech, Chen Wensheng reviewed the glorious journey of the people's army under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and its historic contributions to national rejuvenation. He reflected on the defense responsibilities fulfilled by the stationed troops in Macau over the past 27 years and expressed gratitude to the SAR government and all sectors of Macau society for their long-standing concern and support for the garrison.
Chen Wensheng stated that since the troops were stationed in Macau, they have strictly implemented the "One Country, Two Systems" policy, the Basic Law of the Macau SAR, and the Garrison Law, focusing on political construction, military training, and preparation for war, inheriting the tradition of loving Macau and being close to the people, fulfilling defense responsibilities in accordance with the law, and playing an important role as a "stabilizing force" in maintaining Macau's prosperity and stability, which has been widely praised by the people of Macau. The stationed troops will deeply implement the important instructions from Chairman Xi during his inspection of the garrison, focus on the construction tasks at the beginning of the "14th Five-Year Plan," anchor the goal of achieving the centenary of the army's founding, advance preparations for war, continuously strengthen the foundation of construction, enhance defense capabilities, take root in the Pearl River Delta, safeguard Macau's long-term peace and stability, and strive to be loyal guardians trusted by the Party and the people, and by the compatriots of Macau.
Ho Iat Seng, in his speech, extended holiday greetings to the officers and soldiers of the stationed troops and expressed gratitude for the strong support the garrison has provided to the development of the SAR over the years.
About 200 people from various sectors, including senior officials of the Macau SAR government, heads of central government agencies stationed in Macau and Chinese-funded institutions, representatives of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference from the Macau region, representatives of universities and former military summer camp students, and patriotic organizations in Macau, were invited to attend the reception.
