On August 3, Xinhua News Agency reported from St. Petersburg (Reporter Chen Chang) that the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Northern Fleet recently launched multiple missiles during a multi-service military exercise in the Barents Sea, destroying maritime targets.

The report stated that the frigate "Admiral Golovko" and the cruiser "Marshal Ustinov" formed a naval strike group during the exercise, which also utilized the "Bastion" missile system. Additionally, Tu-142 anti-submarine aircraft, MiG-29K carrier-based fighter jets, and Il-78 refueling aircraft participated in the exercise.

During the exercise, the frigate "Admiral Golovko" launched "Kalibr" cruise missiles at multiple hypothetical enemy targets, the cruiser "Marshal Ustinov" launched "Vulkan" cruise missiles, and the submarine "Oryol" launched "Granite" cruise missiles from underwater. All hypothetical targets were destroyed.
