The U.S. military begins to withdraw from the Kaseruk military base in northeastern Syria.

On the 21st local time, reporters learned that the U.S. military has begun withdrawing from the Al-Hasakah province's Kaseruk military base in northeastern Syria.

Multiple U.S. officials previously stated that the U.S. military has recently completed the withdrawal from the Tanf military base near the Jordan and Iraq border, as well as the Shaddadi military base in northeastern Syria, and will withdraw from the remaining positions in Syria within the next two months.

U.S. officials indicated that, given the near "dissolution" of the Syrian Democratic Forces, which are supported by the U.S. and led by Syrian Kurdish armed groups, the Trump administration believes it is no longer necessary for the U.S. to maintain a military presence in Syria. At the same time, the U.S. hopes to strengthen diplomatic relations with the Syrian transitional government.
