Xinhua News Agency, Doha, July 14 (Reporter Wang Qiang) - Muscat reported: The Oman Maritime Security Center stated on the 14th that three oil tankers were attacked at multiple locations in waters near Oman, resulting in three crew members missing and six injured.
According to a statement issued by the center, all three oil tankers were flying the flag of Liberia. One of the oil tankers was attacked off the coast of Musandam Province in Oman, and 18 crew members have been transferred by nearby vessels, with three still missing as search and rescue operations continue. Another oil tanker was attacked approximately 8.5 nautical miles from the coast of Musandam Province, losing power, and six crew members were injured. Omani military vessels are monitoring the situation on-site. A third oil tanker was attacked in waters near southeastern Oman, resulting in a fire in the engine room, but no casualties were reported.
The Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the same day, calling for respect for international law and ensuring the safe passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
