On April 23, Xinhua News Agency reported from Washington (reporters Huang Qiang and Xu Jianmei) that U.S. President Trump emphasized again on the 23rd that he feels no pressure to end the conflict with Iran and is not in a hurry to reach an agreement with Iran, stating that he wants to achieve the "best" and "permanent" agreement.

On the same day, Trump posted on social media, claiming that time is on the U.S. side, saying he is "perhaps the one with the least psychological pressure," and "I have the most abundant time in the world, while Iran does not." The situation will only become increasingly unfavorable for Iran, as "time is not on their side."

Later that day, at an event at the White House, Trump reiterated to the media that he is "under no pressure at all," and that the real pressure is on Iran, because under the U.S. maritime blockade, "they cannot restore oil transportation, and their entire oil infrastructure system is on the brink of collapse."

Trump stated that he could reach an agreement with Iran right now, but he wants the agreement to be "permanent," ensuring that Iran never has the opportunity to possess nuclear weapons. Therefore, he does not want to rush himself, saying, "We have plenty of time."

He also threatened that the U.S. has already struck about 75% of Iran's targets, severely weakening its military capabilities. If Iran does not want to reach an agreement, he will "complete the remaining tasks through military means."

When asked if he would consider using nuclear weapons against Iran, Trump replied "no," stating that even without launching a nuclear strike, the U.S. has already "completely destroyed" Iran.

In an interview with Fox News Channel on the 22nd, Trump denied that he is eager to end the current conflict to secure the midterm elections, stating that there is "no timetable" for when the war will end, and there is no need to rush. The White House also denied that Trump has set a deadline for extending the ceasefire with Iran.
