Trump suggests possible strike on Iran's "Mountain" nuclear facility, Iran responds firmly.

On the 21st, U.S. President Trump told the media during a meeting with visiting Lebanese President Aoun at the White House that the U.S. "may soon" strike Iran's "Mountain" underground nuclear facility. The Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces, Khatam al-Anbia, stated on the 22nd that if U.S. forces attack Iran's nuclear facilities, Iran will view it as an escalation of regional conflict.

When asked whether Iran has moved centrifuges to the "Mountain" tunnel complex, Trump said, "I think they may have done that, but we don't have definitive records." He also stated that unless Iran possesses nuclear material, having facilities alone is meaningless. "What we are tracking is the material, that is the key," he said, "We may soon carry out strikes in the region, and they will be very strong."

Trump mentioned that Iran is "eager to meet," but "we have no interest in talking until they are ready for a substantive meeting."

The Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces, Khatam al-Anbia, responded with a statement saying that the U.S. threatens to attack Iran's nuclear facilities and other sensitive sites. If U.S. forces take such actions, Iran will view it as an escalation of regional conflict, and all interests belonging to the U.S., its allies, and supporters will become targets for a strong counterattack by the Iranian armed forces.
