Turkey’s Aselsan sees over $4 billion in revenue, up 15% from last year

BEIRUT — Turkish defense electronics giant Aselsan announced today that in 2025 it made 180.4 billion Turkish lira ($4.11 B) in revenue — a 15 percent increase in real terms from 2024.

“ASELSAN secured over 2 billion USD in new export contracts in 2025, marking a 104% increase over the previous year. The growth in new order intake during the year reached 46%, totaling 9.6 billion USD. ASELSAN’s backlog also increased by 46% compared to the same period of the previous year, reached to 20.4 billion USD,” according to the statement.

The company dubbed 2025 “the year of operational efficiency,” during which it spent a total of $1.36 billion on research and development, amounting to a 40 percent increase from last year.

The increase in revenue comes in part from Aselsan’s focus on exporting air defense systems, and the company’s investment in Turkey’s Steel Dome missile defense shield architecture.

For exports, for instance, in December Aselsan inked a contract with Poland worth $410 million to equip Polish armed forces with electronic warfare systems.

“Contracts totaling 2.76 billion EUR [$3.26 billion] for the supply of air defence systems were recorded as the largest new orders received in 2025. The 410 million USD contract signed with a NATO member state stood out as a major export success,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the Ankara-based company has invested $1.5 billion into a Steel Dome facility, which Turkish President President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan previously said would be the “largest integrated air defense facility in Europe.”

Havelsan Announces Maritime Drone, New Facilities

Separately, a Turkish software and unmanned systems developer, state-owned Havelsan, announced the commissioning of an armed unmanned surface vessel (AUSV), dubbed Sancar, in the presence of Erdoğan Tuesday.

“SANCAR […] incorporates mission autonomy based on the ADVENT CMS [combat management system] architecture, platform control and monitoring systems, mobile ground control stations, as well as value-added national solutions such as AI-based image processing software and secure communication systems,” the company said.

The AUSV is designed to conduct armed maritime operations with the Turkish army as well as coastal maritime patrol missions.

Further, Havelsan announced Tuesday the inauguration of two new facilities: a simulator production and integration facility, and a technology center for the next-generation KAAN fighter aircraft.

Havelsan expects the simulator production and integration facility to be the “largest” of its kind in Europe to produce full flight simulators. Meanwhile, the KAAN technology center will conduct system engineering, development, testing and training in a new facility at the Turkish Aerospace Campus.
