Turkish Foreign Minister: Rejects Saudi Arabia's Involvement in US-Iran Conflict

On September 19 local time, Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan gave an interview. When asked about the conflict between Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni Houthi forces, Fidan stated that Turkey does not accept Saudi Arabia being drawn into the current conflict between the United States and Iran, and that Saudi Arabia itself has no intention of getting involved in the conflict. He noted that recent attacks on Saudi territorial integrity, sovereignty, and infrastructure are very serious. Fidan mentioned that proposals aimed at ending the fighting have been communicated to all parties.

Fidan also stated that as a member of the defense mechanism involving Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, Turkey is closely monitoring the situation in Saudi Arabia. There may be some military needs for Saudi Arabia, particularly in the technological field, and Turkey will assess this within the framework of the trilateral defense mechanism and is willing to provide assistance to meet the relevant needs.
