According to a report from the UAE News Agency on July 14, the UAE Ministry of Defense stated that two UAE national oil tankers were attacked by two cruise missiles from the direction of Iran while navigating the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in 1 death and 8 injuries.

The attacked tankers were the "Mombasa" and the "Bahiya." The attack resulted in the death of one Indian crew member on the "Mombasa," while 6 Indian crew members and 2 Ukrainian crew members were injured, with 4 of them sustaining serious injuries.

The attack also caused both tankers to catch fire and sustain damage; the fire has now been extinguished.

The UAE Ministry of Defense issued a statement condemning the attack, stating that it severely violates international law, and indicated that the UAE military is fully prepared to respond to any threats.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a statement on the same day emphasizing that targeting commercial shipping and using the Strait of Hormuz as a tool for economic coercion or extortion is unacceptable, posing a direct threat to regional stability as well as global energy and trade security.
