Ukrainian Army Claims Strikes on Moscow Oil Refinery and Other Targets
Xinhua News Agency, Kyiv/Moscow, June 16 (Reporter Li Dongxu, Huang He) The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated on social media on the 16th that the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a long-range strike against Russian targets, including the Moscow Oil Refinery and the Tula Instrument Design Bureau, in the early hours of the day.
The Ukrainian General Staff reported that the Moscow Oil Refinery has an annual refining capacity of 12 million tons and is an important source of aviation fuel for the three airports around Moscow: Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, and Vnukovo. Following the strike on the Moscow Oil Refinery, the refinery's facilities were damaged and caught fire.
The Ukrainian General Staff also mentioned that a strike was carried out against the Tula Instrument Design Bureau, which focuses on producing air defense radar and navigation equipment, resulting in damage to the assembly workshop of the bureau.
The Mayor of Moscow, Sobyanin, stated on social media on the 16th that a refinery in Moscow was damaged in the Ukrainian drone attack, but there were no casualties.
