On May 5 local time, Vitaly Diakivnich, the head of the military administration of Poltava Oblast in Ukraine, announced that the region was attacked by Russian forces early that morning, resulting in 4 deaths and 31 injuries, with multiple infrastructure damages.
Diakivnich stated that the Russian attack involved missiles and attack drones, causing damage to a local industrial enterprise, interrupting gas supply for 3,480 users, and causing varying degrees of damage to railway infrastructure.
