Unnamed customer receives XTEND’s newest ground robot

XTEND has deployed its first XOS-powered AtlasROVER ground robot to a customer in the Asia-Pacific region, the company’s public parent, JFB Construction Holdings. It’s the first such deployment since XTEND completed its acquisition of Latvia-based robotics company Atlas earlier this year.

The deployment extends XTEND’s software platform, called XOS, beyond the aerial drones it was originally built for and into ground robotics. XOS is designed to run across different types of robots using the same underlying software, letting operators use similar controls and mission tools regardless of whether they’re flying a drone or driving a ground vehicle. Bringing AtlasROVER into that system means the ground platform now runs on the same software architecture as XTEND’s existing drone lineup.

“This is an important step in demonstrating the strategy behind XOS,” said Aviv Shapira, CEO and co-founder of XTEND. “Our goal is not to build isolated robotic products, but to create a common software layer that can extend across air, ground and ultimately maritime systems. Bringing AtlasROVER into the XOS ecosystem moves us closer to a future where different robotic platforms can work together, while humans remain in control of the decisions that matter.”

AtlasROVER is built to operate in difficult environments and carry a range of mission-specific payloads, according to XTEND. The company did not disclose which country or organization received the system, how many units were delivered, or what mission the customer intends to use it for.

XTEND, an Israeli defense technology and robotics company, was founded in Tel Aviv in 2018 by brothers Aviv and Matteo Shapira, Rubi Liani, and Adir Tubi. The company acquired Atlas earlier in 2026 and completed the integration of its operations on July 27, adding more than 4,200 previously deployed robotic systems to its portfolio along with four intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platforms and a tactical communications system called AtlasRADIO. The acquisition also gave XTEND a manufacturing and engineering hub in Latvia, expanding its commercial reach to roughly 40 European countries.

XTEND is in the process of going public through a $1.5 billion all-stock merger with JFB Construction Holdings, a deal announced in February. Once completed, the combined company is expected to be renamed XTEND AI Robotics and trade on Nasdaq under the ticker XTND. The company, now headquartered in Tampa, Florida, says it has deployed more than 12,500 systems across more than 30 countries, including use in five active combat zones. XTEND employs close to 300 people, more than half of them in Israel, with additional manufacturing sites in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Latvia alongside its Tampa production facility.

The AtlasROVER deployment follows a string of contract announcements from XTEND this year, including a $9 million defense order in June and a separate $3 million follow-on order two days later, which the company said pushed its cumulative defense orders past $12 million. XTEND has not disclosed pricing or delivery timelines for the AtlasROVER program specifically, or whether additional Asia-Pacific customers are currently evaluating the platform.
