U.S. Central Command Commander Visits Israel to Discuss "Multi-Front Situation"

Xinhua News Agency, Jerusalem, August 8 (Reporter Pang Xinyi, Chen Junqing) The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation reported on the 8th that General Brad Cooper, commander of the U.S. Central Command, arrived in Israel for a short visit and discussed the "multi-front situation" with senior officials of the Israel Defense Forces.

The report stated that during his visit, Cooper met with IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and other senior commanders to assess the "multi-front situation" and discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip. The U.S. military continues to maintain a high state of readiness in multiple locations across the Middle East, including Israel, with dozens of U.S. aerial refueling aircraft, fighter jets, air defense systems, and thousands of U.S. soldiers stationed in Israel.

The report noted that Cooper arrived in Israel after completing visits to Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris had previously issued statements regarding the possibility of reaching a new ceasefire agreement. Additionally, the U.S. has recently been urging Israel to advance the "20-point plan" proposed by the U.S. concerning a ceasefire in Gaza and post-war arrangements.
