U.S. Intelligence Director: The Purpose of U.S.-Israel Military Strikes on Iran is "Different"
On March 19, Xinhua News Agency reported from Washington that U.S. National Intelligence Director Avril Haines stated that the objectives of the United States and Israel in military actions against Iran are "different."
During a hearing before the House Intelligence Committee, Haines said that President Trump has indicated his goal is to destroy Iran's ballistic missile launch capabilities and production capabilities, as well as its navy, while Israel is "focused on weakening the Iranian leadership."
Haines also mentioned that she is not aware of Israel's considerations regarding attacks on Iran's energy infrastructure.
According to Israeli media reports on the 18th, the Israeli military attacked Iran's "main natural gas facility" located in Bushehr, southern Iran, and is preparing to strike other Iranian infrastructure.
