U.S. Military Announces Formation of First Multinational Drone Task Force

On August 13 local time, the U.S. Central Command issued a statement, announcing the formation of the first "Multi-Domain, Multi-National Attack Drone Task Force." The unit is named the "Falcon Strike Task Force."

The statement said that the task force will utilize one-way attack drones, integrating aerial, surface, and underwater unmanned combat equipment, operated jointly by U.S. and regional partner military personnel.

The statement noted that the establishment of this task force comes nine months after the U.S. Central Command formed the "Scorpion Strike Task Force"—the first dedicated attack drone squadron of the U.S. military in the Middle East.

U.S. Central Command Commander Cooper stated that the "Falcon Strike Task Force" will further expand the achievements of the "Scorpion Strike Task Force."

The statement mentioned that the U.S. has begun consultations with regional partners and has formally extended invitations to join. The statement said that as more partners join, the "Falcon Strike Task Force" will integrate the attack drone capabilities in the Middle East into a unified multi-domain, multi-national deterrent force.
