Xinhua News Agency, Washington, September 1 - According to a report from the U.S. Axios news website on September 1, U.S. military forces attacked two Iranian oil tankers on the same day.
The report stated that the two Iranian oil tankers were anchored near the Iranian coast and were struck by U.S. drones. U.S. officials claimed that this was the first time the U.S. military retaliated against Iran by attacking Iranian oil tankers in response to Iran's attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
