U.S. Military Strikes Iran for Six Consecutive Nights, White House Says Negotiations Are Ongoing

The U.S. Central Command announced on social media on the 16th that at 14:00 Eastern Time on the 16th, the U.S. military launched a new round of strikes against Iran for the "sixth consecutive night" to further weaken Iran's military capabilities.

Earlier on the 16th, White House Press Secretary Levitt stated at a White House press conference that Iran is still actively communicating with the U.S. and expressed hope for reaching an agreement with the U.S., while the U.S. is indeed in communication with Iran. She also attributed the responsibility for the U.S. strikes against Iran to Iran, claiming that Iran violated the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding by firing on commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, and that the U.S. cannot "sit idly by."
