On October 9, Xinhua News Agency reported from Washington (reporters Huang Qiang and Xu Jianmei) that U.S. presidential envoy Wittekov posted on social media that representatives from the United States, Ukraine, and Europe held a meeting in Miami, Florida, on the same day to have "constructive" discussions on ways to ease the Russia-Ukraine situation before winter, end the conflict, and achieve lasting peace.

Wittekov stated that the meeting included representatives from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the European Commission, Ukraine, and NATO. The discussion topics covered recent measures related to winter preparations, such as energy and food security, security guarantees, and long-term arrangements concerning the security of Ukraine and Europe. The parties also discussed support for Ukraine's post-war reconstruction and achieving economic prosperity, including issues related to its accession to the European Union.

Wittekov mentioned that the exchange was productive and helped identify areas for further exploration before the next U.S.-Russia contact. The participants reiterated their commitment to continue working together through diplomatic efforts to achieve lasting peace and enhance security guarantees.

Ukrainian President Zelensky stated to the media on the 8th that the Ukrainian negotiation team would hold a new round of talks on the 9th in the United States with Wittekov and U.S. President Trump's son-in-law Kushner regarding the Ukraine crisis. The Ukrainian negotiation representatives include the head of the President's Office Budanov, the first deputy head of the President's Office Kyslytsia, the chairman of the Servant of the People party's parliamentary faction Arahamiya, and the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Umerov.
