Xinhua News Agency, Washington, August 23 - U.S. Treasury Secretary Mnuchin said on social media on the evening of the 23rd that the conflict between the United States and Iran is entering a "final phase," threatening to cut off "every economic lifeline" of the Iranian regime until Tehran is "isolated and helpless."

Mnuchin stated that the Trump administration has dismantled Iran's military capabilities, destroyed nearly all of its military factories, and "buried" Iran's nuclear program.

He previously wrote in the Financial Times that the U.S. is launching "the largest financial offensive in history" against Iran, while threatening that any country providing financial support to the Iranian regime will face equivalent isolation.

Mnuchin is scheduled to hold a press conference on the 24th, where he may announce specific measures to pressure Iran to return to the negotiating table.
