What Exclusive Advantages Does the J-15T Have? The Only "Glide Bomb Integrated" Carrier-Based Aircraft in the World

Recently, the People's Liberation Army Navy organized the Liaoning aircraft carrier group to conduct training in relevant waters of the Western Pacific. This is the second time this year that the Liaoning has gone to the Western Pacific for long-range training, and this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Liaoning's first long-range training in the Western Pacific since its commissioning in 2016.

Guo Xinyu: Previously, the J-15T has participated in the long-range realistic combat training of our Liaoning aircraft carrier group. What advantages does it have in actual combat?

Military commentator Du Wenlong: First, this is a characteristic of China. The world has both catapult and ski-jump aircraft carriers, and China is the only one with both, so our carrier-based aircraft must be suitable for different launch methods on various combat platforms. Therefore, the "combined ski-jump and catapult" capability has become the most important feature of the J-15T, and there is no other aircraft like it in the world.

Second, this is China's capability. Our carrier-based aircraft can be exchanged between different aircraft carriers and can conduct joint operations, indicating that they are not picky about the venue and can independently complete various tasks on any aircraft carrier. Therefore, in the next step, through joint formations and mixed formations, we can achieve tactical combinations of carrier-based aircraft on different aircraft carriers, which can significantly enhance overall combat capability.
