Yemeni Government Forces Base Attacked by Houthi Militants, Resulting in 3 Deaths and 15 Injuries

Xinhua News Agency, Kuwait City, August 13 (Reporter Yin Zhao) Aden news: A source from the Yemeni government forces said on the 13th that the Houthi armed group used drones to attack a government military base in Hadramaut province in southeastern Yemen that day, resulting in at least 3 government soldiers dead and 15 injured.

The unnamed officer said that several Houthi drones attacked a base of the "Shield of the Homeland" forces' Third Division located in the Abal area of Hadramaut province. This area is in a desert region, near the border between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

The official stated, "The drones directly hit the military base, causing casualties among the troops." According to preliminary statistics, 3 soldiers were killed and 15 were injured, with some of the injured in serious condition, and the number of casualties may increase further.

The "Shield of the Homeland" forces are a military unit established by the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen.

As of now, the Houthi armed group has not responded.

Additionally, according to a statement released by the Yemeni government navy on the 13th, the navy and coast guard engaged in gunfire with Houthi speedboats attempting to breach the coastal exclusion zone in western Yemen over the past two days, destroying two of the speedboats and killing personnel on board.
