The Houthi armed group announced on August 24 that it had carried out an attack on the Saudi oil tanker "Anzan." The statement said the target was located in the northern Red Sea, near the Saudi city of Yanbu, and that the Houthi armed group used ballistic missiles to strike the target, resulting in a fire on the ship, while other nearby vessels fled the attack area. The statement claimed that this operation was a response to Saudi hostile actions, following the principle of "responding to a blockade with a blockade."

The statement also mentioned that the Yemeni Houthi armed group had conducted two additional military operations. One of these involved a ballistic missile and drone attack on a gathering point of Saudi military forces in the Wadi'a area, targeting a large convoy carrying military equipment, and claimed that more than ten trucks loaded with weapons were burned or destroyed. The other operation targeted a gathering point of Saudi military forces in the Kanis area, where the Houthi armed group stated that the missile and drone strikes resulted in dozens of casualties, including commanders and officers, and destroyed or burned multiple weapon depots.
