On March 13, the Japanese Minister of Defense announced that U.S.-made "Tomahawk" and Norwegian-made JSM missiles have begun to be delivered to the Self-Defense Forces. This marks the first time that foreign offensive missiles have been incorporated into Japan's arsenal, signifying a dangerous step in the construction of its so-called "counterstrike capability." What is labeled as "defense" is, in fact, offensive. The "Tomahawk" has a range of over 1,600 kilometers, and the JSM can strike targets up to 500 kilometers away. Japan's acquisition of such heavy weaponry indicates its reckless acceleration down the path of "remilitarization." As the world becomes increasingly chaotic, peace in the Asia-Pacific region becomes all the more precious. The Japanese side ignores the widespread concerns of the international community, falsely claiming that it "does not pose a threat to other countries," which is nothing more than self-deception and a willful disregard for reality. History has long proven that when offensive weapons are in the hands of Japanese militarists, they will be abused without restraint, bringing severe disasters to the people of the world. The international community must remain highly vigilant of Japan's dangerous trends, jointly resist its military expansionist behaviors, and resolutely safeguard the hard-won peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
