R-39
The R-39, or SS-N-20 Sturgeon, is an intercontinental submarine-launched ballistic missile developed by the Soviet Union, entering service in 1983 and decommissioned in 2004. It featured a three-stage solid-fuel rocket engine, capable of carrying multiple thermonuclear warheads, and was exclusively deployed on Typhoon-class submarines, with its development marked by initial testing challenges and a subsequent unsuccessful successor program.
