The FV432 is the armored personnel carrier variant of Britain's FV430 series. It entered British service in the 1960s and became a long-lived tracked troop carrier and support-vehicle base.
The FV432 carries infantry under armor and can be adapted for mortar carrier, command, ambulance, repair, and support roles. Its basic design is not a modern IFV, but it remained valuable because of fleet size, mechanical familiarity, and conversion potential.
The vehicle's long service life reflects how legacy tracked APCs can remain useful after frontline replacement by newer IFVs. Upgraded Bulldog variants and support conversions kept the FV432 family relevant in British and later overseas service.
