Soviet VR-2 Strizh Reconnaissance Drone
mediumThe Tu-141 Strizh was a Soviet jet-powered unmanned reconnaissance aircraft developed by Tupolev for operational-level intelligence collection. It entered service in the late Cold War as part of the VR-2 reconnaissance complex, giving Soviet forces a recoverable high-speed drone for deep photographic reconnaissance. The platform gained renewed attention during the Russia-Ukraine war because remaining Ukrainian stocks were reportedly adapted for long-range strike or decoy use.
