Afghanistan Condemns Pakistan for Cross-Border Attacks on Civilians, Pakistan Claims Action is Exercise of Self-Defense

On the 27th local time, Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid stated that Afghanistan has always adhered to a peaceful solution and still hopes to resolve issues through dialogue.

Mujahid expressed that the Afghan government has been striving to establish peace and stability in the region without harming any country. In line with this policy, the Afghan government has conducted a long, arduous, and decisive war against the extremist organization "Islamic State." He once again assured neighboring countries and the international community that Afghan territory will not be used against any country.

At the same time, Mujahid condemned Pakistan for repeatedly conducting cross-border attacks on civilians within Afghanistan. He stated that issues such as the conflict between the terrorist organization "Pakistani Taliban" and the Pakistani military are internal problems of Pakistan and should not be transferred to Afghanistan.

On the 27th, Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Pakistan's actions are based on exercising the right to self-defense in response to terrorist attacks and military provocations from Afghanistan.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry stated that any further provocative actions by the Afghan interim government, or any attempts by terrorist organizations to undermine the safety and well-being of the Pakistani people, will elicit a cautious, decisive, and appropriate response.
