After Reaching a Framework Agreement, the Israeli Military Strikes Southern Lebanon Again

On June 27, Xinhua News Agency reported from Beirut (Reporter Cao Changhao) that after Lebanon, Israel, and the United States announced a tripartite framework agreement on the 26th, the Israeli military launched another attack on southern Lebanon.

According to the Lebanese National News Agency on the 27th, an Israeli drone attacked an intersection in the southern Lebanese region of Nabatiyeh, while another Israeli military drone dropped a stun grenade near the village of Tabnit in the same area. In addition, the Israeli military is advancing towards the outskirts of the southern Lebanese village of Shuba, using medium and heavy machine guns to fire along the way.

Since the United States and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran on February 28 this year, hostilities have reignited between Lebanon and Israel. A temporary ceasefire lasting 10 days was implemented between Israel and Lebanon on April 17, which has been extended multiple times. However, since the ceasefire took effect, the Israeli military has repeatedly launched attacks citing violations of the ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah.

On the 26th, Lebanon, Israel, and the United States concluded a new round of ceasefire and withdrawal negotiations in Washington after four days and announced the establishment of a tripartite framework agreement. Some media reported that the agreement involves the path for future peace agreements between Lebanon and Israel, as well as measures that both sides will take immediately.
