Airport Under "Air Attack"! Bomb Disposal and Repair Drills in Full Swing
Author | Gu Dongsong, Shen Degang
Recently
at a certain air station of the Southern Theater Command Air Force
the United Defense Mobilization Forces
organized an airport bomb disposal and repair drill
under conditions of heavy damage
to test the comprehensive support capabilities of the airport in wartime

“The airport has been subjected to an 'enemy' airstrike
Initiate the airport bomb disposal and repair plan!”
The air raid alarm pierced the sky
The bomb disposal team entered the damaged area
assessing the damage to the runway
and disposing of unexploded ordnance
After the danger was cleared
the repair team quickly entered the site
and orderly carried out repair operations
completing crater backfilling, surface repair, and other tasks

Subsequently
the emergency ground support team carried out
surface cleaning, marking of runway signs
installation of emergency navigation lights
and setup of mobile arresting nets
to ensure the runway can be restored for takeoff and landing in the shortest time possible

This joint military-civilian drill
simulated a real battlefield environment
to construct an integrated operational chain of “reconnaissance-disposal-repair”
continuously optimizing the airport bomb disposal and repair process
and enhancing the airport's rapid recovery capability under combat conditions
The Southern Theater Command Air Force conducted a bomb disposal and repair exercise at an airport, simulating an enemy airstrike. Teams assessed runway damage, cleared unexploded ordnance, and quickly restored operational capabilities. The exercise aimed to enhance the airport's rapid recovery processes under combat conditions.
