On September 8, the China-Laos "Peace Train-2026" humanitarian medical rescue joint exercise entered the mixed joint training phase. Both sides completed the deployment of medical tents and functional carriages for secondary treatment institutions in just half a day under the scorching heat at the southern station of Vientiane, Laos, laying a solid foundation for the full-process joint training.

The participating officers and soldiers from China and Laos were mixed into groups, divided into command group, triage group, reception and treatment group, intensive care group, surgical group, medical support group, and several other teams, conducting training simultaneously.

Wang Qi, the deputy leader of the "Peace Train" medical team, introduced that during the training process, the Chinese team members first explained and demonstrated the criteria for the transfer of injured patients and triage, the infection control zones in the surgical carriage, the norms for instrument transfer, and the use of the onboard X-ray machine, among other theoretical and operational essentials. Subsequently, team members from both sides discussed and exchanged ideas on different medical logistics operation processes and the use of medical equipment, gradually reaching a tacit understanding during the training, which laid a solid foundation for the formal exercise.

On the same day, training on unmanned equipment was also conducted simultaneously, with Chinese participating team members using drones, unmanned vehicles, and quadruped robotic dogs to explain and demonstrate operational control techniques for searching for injured personnel, transferring and transporting them, as well as material delivery.
