China-Singapore "Maritime Cooperation-2026" Joint Exercise Opens

Xinhua News Agency, Guangzhou, September 5 (Yang Xiaomin, Li Nian) - The "Maritime Cooperation-2026" joint exercise between China and Singapore opened on September 5 at a military port in Zhanjiang, Guangdong, with representatives from both navies participating in the opening ceremony.

This joint exercise is being held in the maritime and aerial areas near Zhanjiang, with both sides dispatching 2 vessels. The Chinese participating vessel is the missile frigate Dali, while the Singaporean participating force is the RSS Fortitude frigate. The exercise is divided into two phases: port and shore, and at sea. During the port and shore phase, high-level meetings and planning discussions were held on the 4th, along with activities such as a deck reception. In the following days, professional exchanges will focus on underwater operations, submarine search and rescue, and underwater medicine. The at-sea phase will officially begin on the 8th, involving exercises in communication operations, at-sea replenishment, joint maritime strikes, and joint search and rescue.

This is the fifth joint maritime exercise conducted by China and Singapore. In recent years, the exchanges and cooperation between the two navies in joint exercises and training have shown deepening development, continuously enhancing mutual trust and promoting pragmatic cooperation.
