China's 24th Batch of Peacekeeping Forces to Lebanon Passes Capability Assessment with High Standards
Recently, the 24th batch of China's multi-functional engineering battalion, construction engineering battalion, and medical team for peacekeeping in Lebanon successively underwent military capability assessments by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) command. This evaluation is divided into two main categories: functionality and mission, with detailed and stringent assessment standards covering all areas of responsibility.
Since the full deployment of personnel in December 2025, under the unified command of the peacekeeping command, the three teams have each performed their duties and collaborated to tackle challenges. They have cleared and demined an area of 825 square meters, destroyed 146 landmines, identified 27 unexploded ordnance, completed 18 annual tasks such as road repairs and infrastructure in the mission area, and 75 temporary tasks. They have treated over 1,900 peacekeeping allies and local residents, regularly conducting humanitarian free clinics to provide medical services to the local population.
