Prague-based drone detection company joins EU’s flagship defence innovation programme under the European Defence Fund

Prague, March 2026 – Dronetag, a Czech technology company specialising in drone identification and detection systems, has been selected for the second cohort of the EUDIS Business Accelerator from a pool of over 450 applicants. The programme, launched in 2024 and funded under the European Defence Fund (EDF), supports 20 innovative startups and scale-ups from EU Member States and Norway that are contributing to Europe’s defence capabilities. Dronetag is the first and only Czech company to be selected for the programme.

Dronetag’s selection falls under the theme “Counter-Drone and Protection Against Mass Low-Cost Threats.” The company develops drone detection systems that identify commercial drones and pinpoint their operators by capturing the signals drones broadcast, without emitting any signal.

The EUDIS Business Accelerator provides selected companies with more than 300 hours of expert coaching, six bootcamps held alongside major EU defence industry events, direct access to defence end-users and investors, and structured networking across the European defence innovation ecosystem.

Building on NATO DIANA

This is not Dronetag’s first recognition at the European defence level. In 2023, the company was selected for the NATO DIANA accelerator from a pool of over 1,300 applicants, becoming the first Czech company accepted into the programme. The EUDIS selection confirms a consistent trajectory: Dronetag is now recognised at both the NATO and EU level as a relevant player in airspace security and counter-drone technology.

Detection capabilities

Dronetag’s detection portfolio includes Scout, a stationary long-range receiver with detection ranges up to 25 km, and RIDER, a portable detector for law enforcement and field operations. Both products integrate with existing command-and-control and UTM platforms via API.

Beyond Remote ID, Dronetag’s receivers support aviation signals including ADS-B, ADS-L, FLARM, and UAT. The company’s roadmap includes decoding of proprietary drone communication protocols, advanced FPV drone detection with control link decoding and analog video signal capture, and GNSS-based multilateration for anti-spoofing. All R&D is conducted in-house, enabling rapid iteration based on end-user feedback.

The company also produces a range of Remote ID transmitters for drone compliance, used by pilots, commercial operators, and drone manufacturers across the US, EU, Japan, Singapore, and the UK.
