DSIT Solutions launches GhostFin – a unique, multi-mission sonar suite for UUVs

Report Content

January 27, 2026 DSIT Solutions is proud to launch GhostFin, its unique multi-mission sonar suite for UUVs. Delivering advanced surveillance capabilities, GhostFin narrows the gap between unmanned vehicles and traditional submarines.

Providing Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Anti-Surface Warfare (AsuW) solutions for UUVs, GhostFin comprises an active array and 2-sided Flank Array Sonars (FAS), a passive Towed Array Sonar (TAS), and a Bow Array Sonar (BAS). The system’s modular and compact design allows integration with a wide range of UUVs. Optimal configurations of sensors can be tailored to specific platform dimensions and operational requirements – from medium-sized UUVs to large-displacement and extra-large platforms.

GhostFin’s advanced data processing capabilities enable platforms to operate in fully autonomous mode – equipped with decision support tools as well as target detection, tracking, and classification functionalities. The system – which includes navigation and safe diving and surfacing control – enables UUVs to operate independently or collaboratively alongside other platforms, including submarines and ASW platforms.

GhostFin can provide bistatic sonar detection using a remote active sound source from ASW ships or fixed Sonar systems such as SeaShield, in addition to the ability to receive instructions and mission updates via underwater communications, from the same sources.

It can also be used as an acoustic signals collection system or a real-time surveillance sonar as part of a joint task force.

Amir Alon, DSIT’s VP Marketing and Business Development, said, “We are offering, for the first time, this unique, versatile solution that can be tailored to each of our customers’ operational needs in the field. This advanced system incorporates a variety of sonars that can be flexibly deployed, according to the mission, within the underwater vehicle. It provides state-of-the-art ASW and ASuW capabilities, acoustic ISR, and enhanced navigational safety. Like all of our systems, GhostFin is powered by AI, which underlies its automated and sophisticated self-processing capabilities.”
