Foreign Media: To Attract More People to Join the Military, the German Government is Using Barbecue Wrapping Paper to Advertise Military Recruitment
The German government has placed recruitment advertisements in barbecue shops. According to a report by the Turkish Anadolu Agency on the 21st, to attract more people to join the military, the German government is using barbecue wrapping paper to advertise for its army.

It is reported that printing advertisements on barbecue wrapping paper is referred to by the German Ministry of Defense as "ambient" advertising, which places recruitment information into everyday life scenarios. The barbecue packaging also includes a QR code, allowing consumers to scan it for more recruitment information.
This promotional campaign is not only aimed at young people just starting their careers. A spokesperson for the German Ministry of Defense told the Berlin Messenger that the government also hopes to attract those considering a career change and workers with professional skills who may be seeking new jobs. The participating barbecue shops do not have to pay for these wrapping papers and will not receive any compensation. The German Ministry of Defense stated that these restaurants are participating voluntarily and receive the wrapping paper printed with relevant promotional content for free.
Currently, Germany is seeking to expand the size of its military. As of the end of July this year, the Bundeswehr has approximately 186,700 active-duty soldiers, the highest level in 13 years. However, the German government still plans to further increase the size of the military, hoping to raise this number to over 260,000 by 2035 to fulfill its commitments to NATO.
