French firm targets mass, rapid launch of drone interceptors

French drone maker Cavok UAS is developing a containerized launch system designed to deploy swarms of its Skydart5 interceptor drones, an effort flagged by Counter Unmanned Systems on X after Cavok UAS described the concept.
Cavok UAS, based in Sainte-Menehould in France’s Marne region, posted a schematic image of the dispenser alongside a description of the system’s design goals. The company said Skydart5 is being developed as a compact interceptor built for scalable counter-UAS operations, with the dispenser capable of ground, vehicle, naval or air-launch deployment.
“What if the future of Counter-UAS was not a larger interceptor, but the ability to rapidly deploy many of them wherever they are needed?” Cavok UAS wrote in its post.
The company argued that detecting drones is no longer the central challenge facing counter-UAS operators. It said the harder problem is generating a rapid, scalable, and cost-effective response against multiple simultaneous threats, a scenario increasingly common as drone swarm tactics spread.
“We believe the next generation of Counter-UAS systems will combine mobility, flexibility and mass deployment capability,” the company said, adding that future air defense “may rely on a layered mix of systems, including large numbers of affordable interceptors” and systems “capable of deploying dozens of interceptors within seconds.”

Cavok UAS has not disclosed a timeline for fielding the containerized dispenser, its cost, or how many interceptors a single container would hold. The company’s post described the concept without confirming whether a prototype has been built or tested.
The dispenser concept follows a week of field demonstrations Cavok UAS ran for French Special Forces and Army units, which the company detailed in an earlier LinkedIn post. During that trial period, operators evaluated Skydart5 in manual and automatic flight modes, tested ISR missions using a pan-tilt camera, and ran through a range of tactical scenarios.
Cavok UAS said the drone demonstrated rapid deployment, intuitive handling, and strong speed and maneuverability during the trials. The company attributed part of that performance to Skydart5’s modular architecture, built around an interchangeable central compartment that lets operators swap payloads for different missions.
Discussions with the participating units covered several potential uses beyond counter-drone work, according to Cavok UAS, including ISR and tactical observation, radio relay to extend communications range, transport of emergency medical kits, deployment of sensors, and support for special operations. The company also offers a separate EASA-certified C6 version of the aircraft intended for training rather than combat use.
Cavok UAS said the feedback gathered from French units builds on operational experience it has already collected from what it described as several international users of Skydart5. The company did not name those users or specify where the aircraft has been used operationally.
