German Anti-War Organization Protests Against Munich Security Conference's "Incitement"

The protesters believe that the continuous emphasis on military issues will exacerbate regional tensions and trigger an arms race. They call for a reduction in military spending, a halt to military expansion, and a return to a collective security framework based on international law. At the same time, they criticize the Munich Security Conference for deviating from its original intention of promoting security dialogue, becoming a platform for geopolitical maneuvering, and they urge all parties to replace military deterrence with diplomatic mediation.

Spokesperson for the organizing committee Heinz: I believe that NATO countries in Europe are seeking to play a strong role in this new multipolar world, and the result is that countries are trying to achieve this goal through military expansion and preparation, which we believe is the wrong approach.

Protester Hall: We are once again protesting the so-called Munich Security Conference as we have in previous years, but in reality, this is a conference that fuels war. Military expansion and preparation have never brought peace; they only lead to reciprocal military buildup, arms upgrades, an arms race, and enormous risks of war.
