Houthi Forces Attack Yemeni Government Army Camp, Saudi-Led Coalition Responds

[Global Network Report by Reporter Yan Peiyun] According to reports from Saudi Arabia's "Middle East Newspaper" and other media, the Saudi-led coalition issued a statement on the 6th local time, expressing condolences to the Yemeni government and people over the deaths of several soldiers from the Yemeni government forces due to an attack by the Houthi armed group, and reaffirming support for Yemen's legitimate government.

The Yemeni government forces stated on the 6th that the Houthi armed group attacked government military camps and positions in the eastern provinces of Marib and Hadramaut that day, resulting in at least 35 government soldiers killed and dozens injured. The BBC and the Associated Press reported that the Houthi armed group claimed responsibility for the attack on that day. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree stated that the attacks on the camps in Marib and Hadramaut provinces used ballistic missiles and drones, in response to the gathering of Saudi-supported forces in eastern Yemen.

Marib province is a key stronghold for the Yemeni government forces and is also a major oil and gas production area in Yemen. The Houthi armed group has attempted multiple times to advance towards the provincial capital and has engaged in fierce battles with government forces there.
