Abdul-Qadir Murtada, an official responsible for prisoner affairs with the Houthi armed group, issued a statement on social media that Saudi Arabia carried out an airstrike on a prison located in Hazm, the capital of Al-Jawf province, on the evening of the 21st, leading to the deaths of 9 detainees. Murtada mentioned that at the time of the incident, the prison was "holding some captives" who had been captured in recent fighting. The list of the deceased will be released later.
The Saudi side has not yet responded to this.
During the recent escalation of the situation in Yemen, Hazm has also been subjected to airstrikes. The Houthi-controlled Masirah TV reported on the 7th of this month that Saudi airstrikes targeted the central prison in Hazm, resulting in 7 deaths and 7 injuries.
