Intense Gunfire at the Pakistan-Afghanistan Border, Pakistan Claims Over 300 Casualties on Afghan Side, Afghanistan Has Yet to Respond

According to Pakistan's Dawn newspaper, Pakistan's Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, reported on the 27th that 133 armed personnel from the Afghan side were killed, with over 200 others injured.

Reports indicate that Tarar stated on social media that the Afghan side's "defensive targets in Kabul, Paktika, and Kandahar were struck, and there may be more casualties." Tarar added that 27 outposts of the Afghan side were destroyed, and 9 outposts were captured.

As of the time of publication, no response from the Afghan side has been observed. The Afghan Ministry of Defense released a statement late on the 26th claiming to have captured 15 military outposts from the Pakistani side and killed 55 Pakistani soldiers.

According to Afghan media reports, the provinces of Khost, Kunar, and Nangarhar, which border Pakistan in eastern Afghanistan, have been intermittently exchanging fire in recent days. Since October of last year, there have been multiple instances of gunfire in the border areas between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
