Xinhua News Agency, Kuwait City, October 1 (Reporter Yin Zhao) - Sana'a reports: According to Yemen Republic Television on the 1st, fighting has intensified on multiple fronts in Taiz Province in southwestern Yemen. The report cites a statement from the government forces saying that on that day, fierce battles occurred in the southern region of Taiz Province with Houthi armed forces, resulting in the deaths of 30 Houthi fighters and injuries to 50 others.

Additionally, according to the Yemen government forces, since the morning of the 1st, fighting has continued on five fronts in Taiz Province, with both government forces and Houthi armed forces suffering significant casualties.

An unnamed military source stated that the fighting began early in the morning, with both sides engaging in heavy shelling and launching drone attacks. As of the afternoon of the 1st, the battles were still ongoing. Government forces have intensified their ground military operations. Furthermore, Saudi Arabian aircraft also conducted airstrikes on multiple positions in Taiz Province controlled by Houthi armed forces on that day.

The military spokesperson for the Houthi armed forces, Yahya Saree, released a statement on social media on the 1st, claiming that in the past 24 hours, Saudi aircraft have launched 47 airstrikes and missile attacks on Taiz, Saada, and Al-Jawf provinces in Yemen, targeting communications networks among other things.

Recently, the Houthi armed forces have intensified their offensive against government forces and announced a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia, which supports the Yemeni government. The Houthi armed forces have captured strategic locations such as the port city of Mocha and the island of Perlin. The Yemeni government stated on September 11 that the Houthi armed forces have taken control of the entire western coastline of the country and have pushed their offensive into the southern province of Lahij.
