Iran: 763 Schools Destroyed Since the Outbreak of War
[Global Times - Global Network Report by Reporter Zhao Yipu] According to the latest statistics from the Iranian Ministry of Education, since the United States and Israel launched military actions against Iran, a total of 763 schools have been destroyed due to deliberate attacks in the past 36 days, resulting in the deaths of 241 students (139 boys and 102 girls) and 56 teachers, with an additional 178 students and 24 teachers injured.
On February 28, an elementary school in the Minab area was targeted by airstrikes from the United States and Israel. According to the Tehran Times, 174 people have died at this elementary school, most of whom were girls aged 7 to 12. To commemorate the deceased students, the Iranian Ministry of Education has initiated the "Minab Angels" campaign, planning to rebuild two schools on the original site of the elementary school. Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei called on the Iranian people to plant trees on April 1 to honor the victims of the U.S.-Israeli-Iran conflict, including the students affected by the attack on the elementary school. Additionally, the Tehran Times reported that the Iranian government plans to build a park in the capital Tehran to commemorate Iranian students who lost their lives in the war.
On March 27, an emergency debate was held at the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council regarding the attack on the Minab elementary school in Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian stated at the meeting that the attack on the Minab elementary school by the United States and Israel constitutes "deliberate war crimes," and that the U.S. and Israel have committed "atrocities" and "genocide" in their bombing operations against Iran.
