Xinhua News Agency, Riyadh, October 6 (Reporter Luo Chen) - Turki Al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi Arabia-led coalition, said on social media on the evening of the 5th that the coalition's naval forces carried out military operations in Yemen's Hodeidah province, destroying multiple military targets of the Houthi armed group and thwarting their attempts to launch attacks on the southern Red Sea waterway.
Al-Maliki stated that the operation destroyed the Houthis' weapon depots and facilities storing explosives. He indicated that the operation aimed to protect the safety of shipping in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
