Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, September 15 - The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated on the 15th that Iranian forces shot down a U.S. military MQ-1 drone over the Strait of Hormuz that day, marking it the third drone of the same model shot down on that day.

According to the IRGC news website, the drone was detected and destroyed by the IRGC Aerospace Force's new air defense system, and the operation was carried out under the unified command of Iran's national air defense network.

The IRGC had previously issued a statement saying that on the same day, the Revolutionary Guard intercepted and shot down two MQ-1 drones in the airspace east and west of the Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. side has not yet responded to this.
