Iran Denies Launching Missiles at the UAE

Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, August 19 - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei denied on the 19th that Iran launched missiles at the UAE, stating that the UAE's accusations are "baseless."

Baghaei expressed regret over the accusations made by the UAE, stating that the UAE's actions violate the principles of good neighborliness and harm the current efforts to strengthen trust among regional countries and prevent the escalation of insecurity.

Baghaei said, "Considering the malicious actions taken by the United States and Israel against regional peace and security, especially their history of conducting 'false flag operations,' the current situation is complex," and regional countries should avoid making baseless accusations against Iran.

The UAE Ministry of Defense stated on the 18th that the UAE's air defense system detected two ballistic missiles launched from Iran, one of which fell outside UAE territorial waters, while the other fell within its territorial waters.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced early on the 19th that, in light of the ongoing escalation of the regional situation that undermines regional and international peace and security, the UAE has decided to suspend all trade, commercial exchanges, and financial transactions with Iran, with the resumption time to be announced later.
