Iran: The Start of Ceasefire Negotiations Depends on the U.S. Fulfilling Ceasefire Commitments on Regional Fronts
Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, April 9 - The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated on the 9th that whether comprehensive ceasefire negotiations can be initiated depends on whether the United States fulfills its ceasefire commitments on all fronts in the Middle East, especially in Lebanon.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei expressed strong condemnation of Israel's military actions in Lebanon, extended condolences to the families of the victims in Lebanon, and offered sympathy to the Lebanese people and government.
Baghaei stated that the ceasefire on the Lebanese front is an inseparable part of the ceasefire proposal put forward by Pakistan, and any actions or positions that contradict this commitment would mean that the United States has failed to fulfill its promises.
Baghaei indicated that the Pakistani government has invited both Iranian and American sides to dialogue in Islamabad, and relevant arrangements are currently under study and planning, provided that the United States ensures compliance with ceasefire commitments on all fronts. Additionally, once the negotiation visit plan is finalized, members of the Iranian delegation will also be announced to the public.
